Recorded Show Blocks

TRAINING SIGNAL ACTIVE
// GUIDE 004 · YOUR SHOW, ON A CLOCK

Put a recorded show on the schedule.

Can't be live every day? Record your show, drop the file, and the station airs it in your slot — every day, on time, no operator needed. Proven in production across the network, from the Eastern Shore to Japan.

The golden rule of the slot: live always wins. If you connect to the live booth during your window, your live signal takes over. When you're not connected, the recorded show airs. Rotation resumes automatically after either one. No dead air, ever.

The Workflow

RECORD → DROP → AIR
1
Record your show as one file

One episode = one MP3. Keep it near your slot length (a one-hour slot wants ~59 minutes). Music, breaks, and voice all mixed in — what's in the file is what airs.

2
Name it by the convention

SHOWNAME_SHOW_001.mp3, then 002, 003… Sequential numbers matter: the playlist plays episodes in order. A sloppy filename is a lost episode.

3
Drop the file

Small files go through your dashboard upload. Big files (a full hour can top 60 MB) go through your station's show drop — HQ provisions one per station on request. Don't email show files. Ever.

4
HQ schedules the slot

Your show gets its own playlist, scheduled to your window in the station's local time zone — cross-timezone slots are converted for you (a 10 PM ET slot is next-morning JST; the schedule handles it).

5
Keep the episodes coming

New episode = same name, next number, same drop. It joins the sequence automatically. Want to go live instead one night? Just connect — rule #1: live wins.

House rules: songs go through the Airplay Pipeline as individual tagged tracks — a show block is not a way to sneak music into rotation. And "I uploaded it to Drive" is not "it's on the station" — if it's not in the show drop, it doesn't air.
