What the Content Wire is
Every morning around 8:00 a.m. Eastern, a research packet arrives at content@urock.network with the subject
[DAILY][WURN] (national desk) or [DAILY][WPHL] (Philadelphia desk). The system reads it automatically,
checks it, and holds every item for a human editor. Nothing publishes itself unless HQ has switched a channel's auto‑publish on
— and even then only clean READY web articles go through.
Where you work
editor.urock.network → Wire tab (HQ also sees it under Dashboard → Content Engine → Daily Content Wire). The desk shows the monitor row (last wire per channel, items waiting, errors) and nine views: Inbox, Pending Review, Ready, Verify, Contact, Network Lift, Air Copy, Published, Errors/Quarantine.
The three item statuses
- READY — usable now. Review, edit if needed, Approve, Publish.
- VERIFY — one fact needs checking. It sits in Hold until you confirm it. Never publish unverified.
- CONTACT — needs permission, comment or media. An assignment is created automatically; work the contact first.
Daily routine
- Open the desk by mid‑morning. If a red banner says a channel hasn't arrived, check Errors/Quarantine, then the ChatGPT send.
- Work Pending Review: Preview each item, fix copy, Approve or Reject with a reason (it lands in the audit trail).
- Publish approved items with
POST /api/content/wire/items/:id/publishand includepublication_destinationandchannelin the request. A destination set on the wire item itself is ignored. Each web article goes to exactly one home (U-Rock® Today, U-Rock® Radio Trade, COMMUNITY, or ESPORTS). Events go to the station calendar. Social copy queues as an Amplify draft. Air reads queue under Air Copy. - Known desk defects (failed the 10/26 walk): no wire item detail view, no source link on the wire card, no destination selector. Until they are fixed, set the destination through the API call above.
- Strong Philadelphia items: HQ can press Lift to WURN‑dB. That creates one syndicated network story credited to WPHL‑dB — the local original stays untouched.
- Advertiser and sponsor leads never touch editorial. They route to the sales pipeline automatically.
Rights — the hard line
Wire copy is original text. Source photographs are never pulled automatically and never reused without permission.
TEXT_CLEAR_MEDIA_UNVERIFIED means exactly that: text is clear, imagery is not. If you need art, use U‑Rock® assets
or clear the media through the CONTACT route.
If something goes wrong
- Bad subject, broken JSON, wrong sender, unknown channel — the message quarantines with the exact reason. Fix upstream, hit Retry import.
- Published something wrong? On the Editor's Desk, use the story's Unpublish button: it sets the story back to draft and deletes nothing. Do not use the Wire Desk's Unpublish / Roll Back. You can also ask HQ via Communications, including the URL.
- Duplicates are caught on message ID, delivery ID, item ID and source URL — the same story can't sneak in twice.
