Session discipline
OPERATIONSBefore: confirm target station, source device, levels. During: monitor the actual AIR feed, not your local mix — the listeners hear the mount, not your headphones. After: disconnect cleanly and CONFIRM automation resumed. Every off-air incident is a checklist that didn't run.
Electrical safety
SAFETYOne hand rule near live gear. No daisy-chained power strips feeding a rack. Grounded (3-prong) means grounded — never lift a ground pin to kill hum; fix the loop. De-energize before opening anything with a power supply. Coffee never lives above the console.
Backups & change control
THE TENET, BASICALLYBack up before you change; verify the backup EXISTS and is CURRENT-DATED before touching production. Change one thing at a time. Document what changed so 2 a.m. you can undo what 2 p.m. you did. A file copy you never tested restoring is a hope, not a backup.
On the U-Rock rails
NETWORK TIE-INNetwork law: nothing preempts a live affiliate except the Emergency Broadcast control; network pushes only target network-controlled AutoDJ stations. Go-Live confirms station + input device by name before a webcam can touch a mount. These aren't UI niceties — they're this module in code.
