Coverage compounds.
Airplay opens the door; coverage builds the house. How to earn scenester attention.
Be Coverable
GIVE THEM A STORYScenesters need stories, not ads. A hometown release show, a strange venue, a lineup change survived, a song about the mill closing — pitch the story, not the song. Your EPK (Module 5) makes their job take ten minutes instead of two hours; the fast yes goes to the easy story.
The Network Media Chain
WHERE IT GOESInterviews, articles, photos, and video shot by network scenesters flow through the same library chain music does — local coverage that resonates travels regional and national. Sign the releases they ask for (Scenester Module 7); unreleased coverage cannot travel.
Do This Now
HANDS ON- Write two one-paragraph story pitches about your band.
- Send one to your local station's mailbox.
- Say yes to the next interview offer, prepared.
